SCSI is enabled (see .config below). And I can mount most USB keys but
not this one though it should be supported by Linux :(

I am used to using RedHat, whereby I make sure I have the iptables
package installed and I can use "chkconfig" to see if iptables has
system-V runtime setup to be on or off, and the iptables-save data goes
into /etc/sysconfig/iptables for reload on reboot (or change of SysV

I've been watching the spamassassin package page
(http://packages.qa.debian.org/s/spamassassin.html) for a while now, hoping
for spamassassin 3.0 to enter testing but it's being held (for 23 days) by
some 'aba'.

Knoppix is not Debian - it is a LiveCD that is a mixture of Stable, Testing,
and Unstable that does not correspond to any actual Debian version.
If you want an actual version

If I get the point, aptitude can do it for you.
aptitude remove kdegames
will remove all dependent packages
I once used apt-get to remove kde, but all kde components were left
untouched. After that, every time I used aptitude, it would prompt me
to remove a bunch of packages. ;)

I'm using Sarge as well, and have a DynDNS.org custom domain. I've
only been using it for a few days, but the package I'm using is
"ez-ipupdate". It was very easy to setup, and seems to be working
fine.

Hi all,
I migrated from slack8 to debian? via a knoppix3.4 livecd which I installed on

I apologize if these seem obvious to you.

Hi,
I'm using ddclient 3.6.2-3 in Debian Sarge in daemon mode to keep my
DynDNS.org hostname updated. I have configured it to check the IP
address of eth0 every minute, but for some reason ddclient uses 10 to
20 % of the CPU all the time.
Is there anything that can be done about it? I don't know

At the moment I'm trying to disturb the existing system as little as
possible, since until recently it worked. However, if I'm not
successful, I'll definitely consider DpartialMirror.
