I am in the process of switching from RedHat to Debian and I installed woody in a chrooted environment environment using debootstrap and the basedebs.tar base system as advertised in section 3. of the woody Installation Guide. I searched the "testing" repository (which I understand is the soon-to-be official "sarge" release..) and I could not find the basedbs.tar file. I also noticed that the section "Installing Debian GNU/linux from a UNIX/linux System" in the "testing" Installation Guide does not exist.
Does this mean that the "basedebs" installation procedure will become obsolete with the new release or is it something that is generally added to Debian at the last minute? -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
