I finally installed Debian 2.1 after much effort. My Matrox Millennium G200 video card was not recognized by the version of XF86 that comes with Debian 2.1 but I was able to upgrade to the XFree83 3.3.3.1-2 from the unstable packages. Also, my mouse (Logitech MouseMan+ PS/2) was not working at all
