I have two systems one with 2940UW and seagate UW drive pentium 200MMX 128MB
RAM
the second with aic7890 (which is like the 2940u2w) and a seagate u2w drive
pentium-II 400Mhz 256 MB ram
the second system clearly runs faster. disc access is faster, it boots faster
it takes about 4 minutes

K6-2

It doesn't hurt to try and telnet localhost at port 25 to check if sendmail is
working.
However, the reason for the denied permission is you have to specify that your
machine is also called as localhost.

Look in /etc/init.d/network. In there you will see a series
of variable definitions and network commands. Create the
same setup (in that file with different numbers) for your
second NIC.
Then reboot, and away you go

My update-menus binary seems to have broken. Whenever I try running it
(or removing packages, or adding packages that add menu items), it
immediately gives me the following error:
