I drew a few 10's of pictures in M$ PowerPoint a while ago and now I
want to incorporate them into my Latex document ... What could be simpler?
I then printed the slides (one at a time) to files, used the M$-N
I've installed the Debian 2.0 system and went through the XF86Setup sequence
to setup the X server. But when I run startx the system will not start the
SVGA server (starts the VGA server). When I return to the XF86Setup program,
my video card selection is nolonger shown and I have to set it up agai
ok.. I got 2.0 installed and running.
Can anyone recommend some good reading on basic programming? I have no
knowledge aside from knowing a bash shell from a hole in the ground and
I'd like to learn some basic skill so I can figure out how this thing

I installed Debian Linux 2.0.29 and wanted to add support for ppp. I ran
deselect and it refused to install the necessary libc6 library because it was
in conflict with the required libc5 library.
How can I nevertheless install ppp support.

_Running_Linux_ by Matt Welsh, published by O'Reilly. It's
esd is the culprit. This app takes over your /dev/audio -- try using
realplayer in X with E running -- it dies too. The correct thing to do
is simply run 'esdctl off' to disable sound and then 'esdctl on' to
enable esd agin.

At any rate, someone replied and suggested installing emacs without tm.
That worked.
I went into dselect/select and searched for tm (/tm twice) and marked tm
to be purged. Then at dselect's main screen

I want to make a script to add a "[ANNOUNCEMENT] " string in front of
every message delieved to a certain address, then forward the message to
another address. I am using QMail's maildirs also, so should work closely
with QMail -- two commands in .qmail, etc.

With the lastest version of apache, I have been unable to get suexec
working. I know I compiled suexec correctly, and set it to mode 4711.
