I just installed Applixware 4.3.7 yesterday on my "bo" system. It seems
that they include the rpm utility on the CD, and the installation script
apparently makes use of it. All I had to do was indicate where I wanted
it installed to (/usr/local/lib/applix), and which optional components I

Ok... this is "trolling" since I do not have Debian 2.0, but Debian 1.3.
However, I would guess they would have it enabled by default. If not, check
/etc/inetd.conf and check for the 'ftp' daemon and see if it is enabled through
there. That is where the ftpd is usually started up.
