That's an expression of a suspicion based on observation. It's being
reinforced by you words (see below).

Dear Maintainer,
The bug is still present but it can be reclassified since it's not important
anymore: the symlink /usr/bin/kwin allowed kwin to start but, at least for me,

Dear maintainer,
the link /usr/binkwin -> /usr/bin/kwin_x11 solves the problems here.
Thank you for the help.

Dear Maintainer,
solving the problem with broken x-window-manger by installing
kwin-11-4.5.3.2.3 and kde-window-manager-5.4.3.2-3 instead the testing
versions did not solve any of the problems here.
I can neither move nor resize windows.
Some applications like icewaesel can only be stopped via

Dear maintainer,
Same problem here (on two different laptops, both using
Intel chipsets).
Following the advices above, I've forced /usr/bin/x-window-manager
to point to /usr/bin/kwin_x11 using

Thanks a lot for the response. It works perfectly so I guess that the bug

Hi,
I also have the same problem.
In my case I did not install the full KDE environment because I wanted to
have minimal system without full-text search and all other memory-consuming
niceties.
kwin-x11 is installed and has no unsatisfied dependencies.
I also have kde-window-manager installed, b

Same bug here. Upgrade to version 5.3 from Stretch. No kwin borders, no X
window movable and other defects. I downgrade to version 4.11 and
everything works better.
At present day, it seems that plasma-nm, systemsettings and
kde-window-manager do not work correctly for now ; I block the update for

I guess I will have to wait, or is there another solution?

Hi everyone! Please check if you have kwin-x11 installed. There was a missing
dependency somewhere and some packages should have migrated to testing without
them.
Feel free to get the package from unstable and test if you can reproduce this.
Thanks, and my most since
I wanted to confirm the existence of this problem and add that the recent KDE
updates in Debian Testing paralyze important parts of KDE. For example, today,
my wireless got disconnected after upgrading plasma-nm to 4:5.3.2-1 and
systemsettings stopped working after upgrading to 4:5.3.2-2 (also s
