I also noticed that when I have this problem I hear a click of my
harddrive.
I have three of them, and since only one is used I presume the two others
go to sleep. So, when they sleep and I open my dropbox I hear a click sound
like one of the sleeping disk is waking up and this transition from sle
Hello there,
I think I am also affected with this bug. Allowing loopback operations
using:
*iptables -A INPUT -i lo -j ACCEPT
iptables -A OUTPUT -o lo -j ACCEPT*
... does not really help me. The interesting thing is that the problem
started to appear just today, and I have never had any problems
...and I think I've solved it.
My IPTables rules had a default policy to drop Input packets. I didn't
think to write a rule to explicitly allow all loopback traffic. Silly
me. I appended the following lines to my rules and all applications
are loading normally.
iptables -A INPUT -i lo -j ACCEPT

Hello.
I'm also affected by this. On my machine with a relatively new Wheezy
install, Dolphin may sometimes decide to load instantly on a fresh
boot, but soon after it will take roughly two minutes to load. Machine

David, do you have your Linux partition aligned to a 4kb sector on
your SSD? This might be the case as well (I have had to do it on my
HDD).

Yes, I'm also having this problem...
Dolphin sometimes takes 2+ minutes to open on a Sandy Brige quad-core CPU
with Intel SSD (no swap partition). Some applications such as kwrite also
takes 2+ minutes to open.. All other apps open instantly, including
LibreOffice.

Hi,
I can confirm that I am affected by this bug as well. Dolphin seems to
read a lot of stuff from the hard drive at the start and the UI gets
locked for a long time (>15s in my case). It only occurs during the
first time I open it after starting the computer.
Regards,
Grzegorz
