I too confirm this bug. When it crashes there is no output. Strace
output also appeared to not be very useful. The fix mentioned above
does work:

did an upgrade of xfree86 including xlibs to 4.3.0-0pre1v5 and the bug is no
longer happening
Just thought I would report that this is still happening with the latest
version 3.1.5 of Konqueror in Sid.
