results in the same behaviour (the menu does not open anymore), maybe this
is one of the shortest ways to test.

The GUI was being redraw/refreshed but none of the buttons nor any other GUI
element/widget was working. That means that at least one thread was alive and
it could have saved a backup of the draft.

implemented the checks. I verified some of the cases that would trigger the
