It is in unstable now (though it breaks VLC very badly in other ways).
Consider retrying.

Dear Maintainer,
Configure an outgoing SMTP server with (Start)TLS in kmail. If the
server presents an invalid or self-signed certificate to the agent,
KDE will show a warning dialog offering three
to be re-reassigned.
However, in this case, it seems your system is configured to C locale. In
that case, it is not really surprising that non-ASCII characters don't
work. So it might be invalid altogether. You should probably set at least
LC_CTYPE correctly.
Best regards,

Upon further investigation, this seems to occur when the KDE password EchoMode
is set to ThreeStars (*** for each character). In OneStar mode, there is no
problem.

Steps 2 and 3 are not actually required. The bug is still present in

Do you really need even more informations? It seems fairly trivial to
reproduce to me.

I've been faced with the same problem (and the same work-around) after
my system crashed (actually rather a power loss). It seems that the
akregrator Archive ends up being “corrupted” very easily and/or
akregator does not sanitize it enough.

Same systematic crash while upgrading to 3.5.2-1. Removing the whole
congifuration at every update, including the list of all feeds is
really annoying.
Aren't updates within 3.5.x supposed to retain full backward
compatibility?

It seems that the problem lies in ~/.kde/share/apps/akregator/Archive
not being sufficiently (if at all) binary forward-compatible. Erasing
it solve the problem while retaining the imported feeds, but it still
looses the history of what's already been read.
