It still does it in my version of konsole. Hitting Alt and then
releasing it will select the menubar, just like Ctrl-Alt-M

Not really - I know little about alpha. I did it for kstars because the
submitter seemed confident that -mieee would fix it.

IMHO, this is out of scope for KDM. It's the X server's job to notify
the clients it is shutting down. Doing it from kdm has the following
probs:
1. doesn't fix the case when the X server shuts down for another
reason

floating point logic on alpha behave more like on other

Of course I could just do that again, but that wouldn't fix the bug :)
