I first saw this bug on the 1.1.3-3 on a Debian Sarge with OpenOffice
and Evolution from unstable. The bug is still present on 1.1.3-4.

an error on the same line, more likely it is because you are missing the
desktop-file-utils package that contains the update-desktop-database

We have been suffering this bug for months now, most of our users (~30 out of ~45) were downgraded to 1.1.1-4 because of this bug. We get many MS-Word documents from outside, and some of them trigger the bug.
Anyway, the bug is present in all the 1.1.2
We are having the same problem here (40+ users). [Writer] Documents that
worked perfectly (or at least would open) on version 1.1.1, now crash

What's interesting about this crash is that if the file is converted to
.sxw (using version 1.1.1), it can be opened with version 1.1.2-
