I can confirm that I see the same issue in my system as well, makes OO
Calc difficult to use. As far as I can tell this is not an OO problem,
seems to be Debian specific.

Today I installed the Debian OpenOffice package 1.1.0-3 (and later 1.1.0-5).
Unfortunately, in both of these packages I found some serious (for me)
font problems.
- Symbol font in Impress does not show on the screen, so none of my
greek letters show. It is odd because it is only on
Stack trace.

A recent change was that we ask the question only if prelink is instal
