I've posted a bug report, 154622, against gnome-mime-data with
a patch to change the command in gnome-vfs.applications from
ooffice to openoffice. As far as I know, upstream doesn't provide a
ooffice binary although I could picture them eventually renaming
their soffice binary to ooffice t

defined in gnome-mime-data 2.0.0-1. The entries are...

Well the langpacks are built in 1.0.1-3 now
and I can see them in the control file
(something that must have changed between
1.0.1-1 and 1.0.1-3 and I didn't notice)
Everything is running fine now.

Thanks for your further work. There is actually a binary included
(gnomeint) that is supposed to do the registration.. we just have to work
out how to use it :)
I'd rather use that than work around it with something in /usr/bin unless
absolutely necessary.
