to open with Archive Manager, which then complains 'Could not create the
archive: Archive type not supported.'
The context menu shows as the second option 'Open with GDeb
wants to use proprietary tools provided by a company that
first or later will need to find a way to make money?

i am using the helix debs on a clean woody install (by clean i mean that
all the gnome packages come from debian apart from the 2-3 not yet in
woody, like gtkhtml, that are from helix.) it works. i won't use it as
my main mua but it works pretty well.
