The FTBFS is due to changed behavior of dpkg-architecture. I've attached a
patch against debian/rules which changes DEB_BUILD_GNU_SYSTEM to
DEB_BUILD_ARCH_OS and DEB_BUILD_GNU_CPU to DEB_BUILD_ARCH_CPU.
However 5.0.1 will still FTBFS, but the newer upstr
It's interesting to see a three month old fix for this report at the
upstream website (which is not mentioned in the debian/copyrigh file).
But even this version at
http://plg.uwaterloo.ca/~usystem/pub/uSystem/debian/
doesn't build. Debian uses i486 for the ix86 CPU, the package expects
i386.
