i tried the packages in question, results so far:
- farpd, xsteg and scanssh need to be rebuilt
- memcached and tinysnmp-agent seem to work ok
- systrace and fragroute. i didn't get these to work or can't test them
without taking apart my computer/setup.

Recompiling potion against current libevent headers seems to be enough to
fix this bug -- looks like libevent broke ABI compatibility between 0.8 and
1.0 without changing the soname. :P
Since this version of libevent is already in testing and libevent was not in
woody, it's probably better to just
