I just found that my screen stayed black because I had just switched to
the open nv driver (instead of the closed source nvidia), as I also
installed the new kernel. So my problem of having a black screen after a
hibernate is not related to this package. The rest is, though.

To speed thing up, let me reply. I also found this problem, after the
updating session yesterday. Similar things happen, pressing Alt-F8 does
not help me to get out of the black screen, only a reset does.
Right now I have just uninstalled splashy, as the other critical bug of
not starting/stopping
Hi Richard,
I'd like to confirm this bug. I tried to get it working with your fix
(removing the extensions.rdf), but that also did not work.
Please tell me if you need any more information about my system.
