Hi,
I observe the same behavior (output is attached). Bug #814901 seems related.
I tried without any success the proposed workarounds in the reports.

Hi,
as a workaround, I explicitly switched to pyside:
sudo apt-get install python-pyside
and then:
QT_API=pyside spyder
For spyder3 :
sudo apt-get install python3-pyside
and:
QT_API=pyside spyder3

Hi,
I have the same problem: If installed, it also breaks python-numpy and
python-matplotlib.
Doing
gdb --args /usr/bin/python -c "import numpy as np; A = np.ones((10,10));

Package: libsoqt20c102

Justification: renders package unusable
libsoqt20c102 depends on package libcoin40, but libcoin40 is replaced by
libcoin40c2.
So apt-get says libsoqt20c102 is not installable, if libcoin40 is not
installed manually.
