Hi, First of all, I think this bug is a dupe of #496334. Second, I ran into to this issue my self with mdadm in Lenny on a raid5-array. I fixed it by apply the patch[1] from Chris Webb[2]. After this patch was applied, it was no problem to do --assemble --force without segmentation fault. [1]
