Dear professor Matsumoto, I'm contacting you about a problem we encounted in the Debian Linux distribution, where we include the well-known PHP interpreter. It includes Mersenne Twister code written by you.
According to Debian's free software guidelines, the following part of the licence is not allowed for software in Debian: " When you use this, send an email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] with an appropriate reference to your work" I would like to kindly ask you to give us or anyone deriving from Debian permission to remove this condition from the source code, or to rephrase it as a request but not a requirement (e.g.: "When you use this, please consider to send an email to...") If this is OK with you, all that is needed is just a reply to this email stating that you agree. It would help us very much. Thank you for your consideration, and we hope to hear from you. kind regards, Thijs Kinkhorst Debian Developer -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
