If UTF-8 is really not in use and that script is loaded in
~/.irssi/startup , irssi dumps core during startup. Probably the bug is
in that script rather than in irssi. But as long as I am really not yet

checkroot, even after copying the symlinked localtime into /etc/, the root
filesystem will still be checked every other boot. I'm not sure what exactly

The patch below allows the package to be built. A quick glance at it
doesn't indicate any huge problems, but since I don't the package at
