Interestingly we used 8.046.00-1, with 4.19.0-17 until 2021-10-21 and it
worked fine.
Then we upgraded to bullseye and the package was upgraded to 8.048.03-3.
After rebooting the host never came back until we were able to reach the
sever and debug today.
It turns out modprobe was not ab

The latest stable release of Debian (buster) uses kernel 4.19; Realtek
driver supports kernel up to 4.15;
Ethernet card connects to the router and gets IP from DHCP. Despite this,
internet connection does not work. This driver is currently unusable.
