The error was the same
error: git-svn died of signal 11
(no other information printed)
I try several month ago on Arch linux virtual machine guest on Debian Jessie
host and had same, signal 11.
Some people have similar on Ubuntu:

I experience this heavily on Debian Jessie with
git-svn 1:2.1.4-2.1+deb8u2
libsvn-perl 1.8.10-6+deb8u4
to point where git-svn unusable.
