Hello maintainers,
A new version of smstools was just released some days ago and solve this
trouble.
Could you deploy this new version or, as wheezy is in freeze time, could
you just add patch to current version ?

Hi Michael,
the same problem here: the daemon dies while it tries to move the
message to the checked directory. I'm working on Debian Testing amd64.
There is a patch that solves the problem
