Hi Mikhail, Matt et all.
I would like to adopt s3cmd.
I have updated the package to the latest upstream release and fixed many
packaging issues starting from Matt's version.
I put Matt and myself as Uploaders, and PAPT as maintainer.
I also opened an RFS (#780584) in case you are too busy to
As upstream maintainer for s3cmd, I would very much like to see newer
version 1.5.2 packaged. I took the liberty of making updates to the debian
packaging on aiolith and have placed it here:
https://domsch.com/s3cmd/debian/
There you will find a debuild build, and patch for debian/.

My apologies everyone that I have dropped the ball on this. Please feel
free to pick this up so that the package gets the love it deserves.
Hopefully I can contribute to Debian via much simpler tasks in future.
Thanks.

I'm still interested in maintaining s3cmd - I assume there is no longer
any interest from the parties previously involved, given that this has
been gathering dust for the past year? If not I'll take a crack at this

Hi,
A long time ago, you expressed interest in adopting s3cmd. Unfortunately,
it seems that it did not happen. In Debian, we try not to keep ITA bugs open
for a too long time, as it might cause oth
Could you maintain this in the python apps team, since other there would be
willing to occasionally help, plus it makes finding a sponsor easier.

No worries we all have family and or other commitments so I understand. I
also noticed the beta release when i got a notification about my upstream
fork pull request getting merged into main. This may drop the need for one
of the Debian patches. Because this is a simpler python tool and upstream

Hi Jay,
I have an upload of the latest version over at mentors. That's because
I don't have permission to commit to the svn repository for debian/*
as a new maintainer.
See: http://mentors.debian.net/package/s3cmd
There's an RFS bug open as well:

Is there any activity on adoption of s3cmd? I am also willing to adopt
it. I use s3cmd both at home and at work, so while my debian time is
pretty limited overall, I could justify using some work time to help
maintain this. I'm already a full debian developer and I already have
another package t
Much appreciated. I have a bit of a ramp up before me in regards to
creating debian packages and python development. I could use help with
open bugs / making patches as well as verifying the future packages I
create.
