While upstream may be unwilling to accept a patch for this, it'd be really helpful if debconf didn't append a newline to the password files like /etc/libnss-ldap.secret . Right now, debconf generates password files that ldapsearch -y cannot accept. This breaks things like ldapscripts. -- Craig
