That makes sense. I'll file against libnss-ldap, ldapscripts, and
libpam-ldap, then; nss-ldap and pam-ldap for adding newlines to their
secret files, and ldapscripts because it doesn't detect the condition
and warn about it.

I'll see if I can find the culprit code and put together some patches.
