Hi I think you are just putting the option in the wrong section. If you want to get debug logs from the main daemon, put it under [sssd] (it's then used for sssd_nss and sssd_pam etc too). Note that the sssd process doesn't show the option when you do it this way. The git version uses /

Package: sssd Version: 1.2.1-1 When trying to enable debug output from sssd by adding debug_level = 3 in the domain/INTERN section, the debug setting is ignored and no logging show up in /var/log/sssd/. Looking at the sssd processes running, they all got '-d 0', which contradicts the -d 3 setting
