We (upstream and I) are aware of this issue, in fact Arte changed it's
whole video service 2 days ago and that broke the plugin.
The problem is that the new arte streaming service is now build
exclusively around the rtmp protocol (adobe flash) which can't be handle

Today I noticed that I am not able to play any of the available movies. An error
popup is shown, saying:
Sorry, the plugin could not extract a valid stream URL.
Be aware that this service is only available in Austria, Belgium
