it is enough to create a file /var/lib/pycentral/.pkgremove in the new
preinst, or disable it for all packages by creating a file
/var/lib/pycentral/pkgremove. This will be disabled in python-central 0.6.9.

No. dh_pycentral is a helper used to install the files, and thus it
should remove them.

Have a look at #479852, which has cost me a few hours of time.
Arguably, it's because I didn't read the manpage, and that's true.
However, I think there's an underlying issue which goes against my
understanding of how Debian packages should do stuff, and thus
I want to bring it up.

I have rewritten jppy and chose to use python-support because I am
more familiar with it. The package was previously using
python-central. After the upgrade, the software fails to start,
because Python trips over the broken symlinks in
/usr/lib/python2.5/site-package

When a package is upgraded to a version without python modules (for
example when they are split to another package, or entirely removed),
the new version does not have the python-central postinst, and as a
result, none of the symbolic link
