And then Reboot I get the desired functionallity but only after I have loged in
via the GUI.
Not a real fix but a workaround.

If I Boot to install from iso image 20120806 (and earlier)
then select xfce install from the boot menu and format the root partition as
btrfs then a
workaround is
/bin/rm /dev/null
mknod --mode=666 /dev/null c 1 3
chown root.root /dev/null
ls -lah /dev/null
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 1, 3 Jul 30 16:19 /dev/null
