I also suffer from this bug. As a workaround, if I create
~/.config/a~start/PRINTFIX.desktop [Desktop Entry] Encoding=UTF-8 Version=0.9.4 Type=Application Name=PRINTFIX Comment=PRINTFIX Exec=/usr/share/system-config-printer/scp-dbus-service.py StartupNotify=false Terminal=false Hidden=false and cp /etc/xdg/autostart/print-applet.desktop~/.config/a~start/print-applet.desktop And then Reboot I get the desired functionallity but only after I have loged in via the GUI.
