It seems the problem is due to the following line in
/etc/syslog-ng/syslog-ng.conf:
@include "`scl-root`/system/tty10.conf"
Changing this line to the following fixes the problem:
@include "/usr/share/syslog-ng/include/scl/system/tty10.conf"
While trying to investigate this problem, I did notice
Considering system logs are a vital component, this should be:
Severity: critical
Package: syslog-ng
Version: 3.8.1-5
I tried upgrading syslog-ng and it failed. I then tried installing it
cleanly on a different box and that failed as well. Both systems are
running Debian Testing, stable kernels 4.8.6 and 4.8.7, libc 2.24-5.
