I couldn't reproduce the bug on my systems even on a clean virtual
machine installation.
I found one vaguely related upstream issue[0] but it doesn't mention
libfreetype so I don't think it's relevant to that case.

I didn't find out why the tests are failing during build so I ended up just
disabling them during build.
