This problem remains in Debian Unstable.
It seems the Ubuntu folk have solved it, but Debian folk have not. If
there is a problem with the packaging then put the wx.media stuff in a
separate package and allow whyteboard to depend on that?

I think #680379 is a duplicate of this report?
This report has been marked as wishlist, which is sort of right. However
I think it should now be considered a bug that python3-pymongo isn't
available in Debian Unstable.

Of course there is then a deeper problem, Python 3 has an html package
in the standard distribution, at least on Debian Unstable. :-(

__doc__ is of type str which has a method decode in Python 2, but decode
is a method on bytearray in Python 3. I removed the decode call and it
installed fine with Python 3.
Perhaps there needs to b
array in Python3, __doc__ is a string. I
tried editing the setup.py to remove the decode() as not being necessary
in Python 3 and it seems to work.
So I don't see how this has ever worked for anyone :-(
I will push this problem upstream.
