Bug#418814: Xircom RE-100 network interface fails silently on Etch Netinst

I now believe this problem is caused by a kernel bug, already reported by someone else as http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5569 Unfortunately I don't know how to further diagnose this on my own, so please let me know of any suggestions. Thank you, Paul D
