I believe I encountered this bug before: If xbindkeys maps a key that
does not exist in the current layout, it binds to all keys (making the
keyboard completely useless).
I did submit a patch:

alpha and ia64 archs have never been tested, so I cannot give any
warranty whether it will work, or not... ddcpci (the part that causes
some problems to build on some archs) use at least one x86-specific
function (ioperm), so I don't think this part of the code will work on
alpha
I'm the main upstream developer.
I agree that these I/O warnings are quite confusing, but the only thing
you should look at is this part:
