Thanks Fabian!
To make it official, I orphaned xylib in #979256.
Happy 2021!

Hi, I haven't been really maintaining xylib (nor any other Debian
package) for years, so I guess it's time for me to officially orphan
it.
Package description:
C++ library for reading files that contain x-y data from powder
diffraction, spectroscopy and other experi
This was fixed in the latest release upstream:
https://github.com/wojdyr/xylib/releases
but unfortunately I'm no longer able to maintain the Debian package.
The only package that depends on xylib is fityk. Perhaps fityk
maintainers could help.
Best wishes,
Marcin
FWIW I applied a blind fix upstream:
https://github.com/wojdyr/fityk/commit/9684b96e336ae7c926d70dbccf03f1618eee7433
Sebastian, thanks for handling it, no need to delay it longer.
Cheers
Marcin

Hi Matthias,
support for this file format is relatively new, previously it was read
as generic data file.
Actually the files are read in xylib library, which is a separate
package in debian, but it's better to file a bug report upstream:
https://github.com/wojdyr/xylib/
As a workaround you may ope
Upstream author here.
I think that that the problem that caused adding -lstdc++ in
debian/rules is fixed in ver. 1.2.9
so when you update debian package you may just remove it.
I've fixed it in https://github.com/wojdyr/fityk/commit/bb1f01d

Dear Logan,
I've prepared xylib-1.2 package a month ago, in which I think this
problem is fixed.
I'm not a DD and Carlo who is normally uploading xylib has been busy,
so it's waiting:

Hi,
it has been fixed upstream (the location of this header was changed in Boost).
I guess we should package the latest xylib version.

Hi,
I've changed syntax of fityk scripts in ver. 0.9.5, so if any debian
users have written such scripts, they would need to modify it after
the update.

I remember this problem, er

The manual is in /usr/share/fityk/, the rest of docs is in
/usr/share/doc/fityk/.
AFAIK files that are used by a program go to /usr/share/program/,
e.g. gimp manual in /u

A couple of days ago I had a similar report from Ubuntu 10.04 user:
"I can not load any datafile, because it just keeps on waiting for the
filemanager window to open."
But I still don't know what causes the problem and I can't reproduce it.

I'm upstream maintainer.
I don't know what's the reason for these crashes. I haven't heard
about similar problems before. You may try updating fityk and/or
wxWidgets.

It's good to know, thanks.
I'll test the next fityk version (i'm a maintainer of this program)
with GCC 4.3.
IMHO you don't need to fix it now, the new upstream version should be
released in April.

Thanks, I learned about this one earlier in the week,
we're looking into a fix for the next upload...
I think the bug is present also in 2.6.3.2.1.5.
