I had not experienced any corruption with the previous version of
libgl1-mesa-dri. If you can point me to a download of version 7.0.2-4
(it seems to be gone from my apt cache), I will reinstall it to confirm.

On receiving the update to alsa-source this morning, I recompiled the
alsa drivers with module assistant. After a reboot, the surround volume
control is gone from both kmix and gnome volume control, as is the "line
in as output" option.
I have installed the debugging packages and the log with debugging symbols is
attached.

Press ctrl+backspace
