Package: xfce4-power-manager-plugins
Version: 4.20.0-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
After Bookworm -> Trixie upgrade, I couldn't change brightness anymore with the
hotkeys.
When running "xfce4-power-manager --debug" and pressing a hotkey, I saw:
TRACE[xfpm-brightness-polkit.c:160] xfpm_brig
I believe this upstream bug report is related:
https://dev.gajim.org/gajim/gajim/-/issues/12165
(I have the same issue, also XFCE).
Thanks for that hint! That seems to be the cause of Jerome's segfault,
too, namely the file /etc/apt/preferences.d/99my-custom-repository:
Ah, I completely missed Jerome's attached logfile, but yes now I see.
Happy to be of service, I really had no idea it was the same, hehe :)
Thank you as well
I have the same outcome, but I don't know if it's the same cause.
Anyway, I found aptitude segfaults, when the active uid cannot read some
file.
Reproduce:
$ whoami
gert
$ su -c 'touch /etc/apt/preferences.d/test'
$ aptitude search nouveau
(works fine)
$ su -c 'chmod -r /etc/apt/preferences.d/t
Sorry to disturb you xfce people, but for completeness sake, the (in my case
related) bug report to hibernate is #682797.

Package: hibernate
Version: 2.0+15+g88d54a8-1
When suspending/resuming, the ehci_hcd module gets unloaded/reloaded, which
causes the loss of my keyboard autorepeat settings (see also #667091).
But my kernel (3.2.0-3-amd64) is new enough for it not to be blacklisted:
gert@gert:~$ cat /etc/hiberna
I have the same problem, also with xfce.
In my case, the hibernate command (version 2.0+15+g88d54a8-1),
unloads/reloads ehci_hcd on suspend/resume, which is what my keyboard is
attached to.
In /etc/hibernate/blacklisted-modules it says
ehci_hcd2.6.0 2.6.14
Even though I use a newer
Package: hibernate
Version: 2.0+15+g88d54a8-1
The package contains the file:
/usr/share/hibernate/scriptlets.d/ssh_and_gpg_agents
which contains the "gawk" command, while gawk is not a dependancy of the
package.
I do have mawk automatically installed because of the base-files dependancy.

but worked fine,
until I switched from kdm to gdm(+dash).
