Maybe the combination worked, but my memomry of my last problems with postgres
install say it was just changing the .conf file.
I still don't have pgadminIII working yet.

BTW, the error, after again altering the 'postgres' with a password change, in
trying to connect with 'psql -U postgres -d postgres -W' on the command line
is: psql: FATAL: Ident authentication failed for user "postgres".
