Unfortunately, we've never been able to reproduce it on other distros,

The fixes have been posted for a few days on the upstream bug. BTW, this bug
also causes all Clutter 1.2 apps to crash due to that library's use of GLX
1.3; so GNOME Games and Empathy cause the X server to crash.
