Hi, My name is Clint, and I'm one of the Shotwell developers tasked with fixing this.
Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it; here's what I'm doing: ----- Test 1 ----- 1) Attempting to publish a photo as usual 2) In the dialog that asks for the URL of my Piwigo gallery, supplying "http://www.gamers.org/dEngine/rsc/pcgpe-1.0/readme.txt" instead (document is plaintext, is not valid XML and does not begin with a '<'). ----- Test 2 ----- 1) Attempting to publish a photo as usual 2) In the dialog that asks for the URL of my Piwigo gallery, supplying "http://derpinamctesterson.piwigo.com/index?/category/1-%E3%81%AA%E3%81%AB%E3%81%93%E3%82%8C" (URL is inside Piwigo gallery, but can't be published to directly). ----- Test 3 ----- 1) Attempting to publish a photo as usual 2) In the dialog that asks for the URL of my Piwigo gallery, supplying "http://derpinamctesterson.piwigo.com/../../../../ws.php" (crazy path). In the first two cases, I get an error message about either the URL being incorrect or an error occurring during publishing (as expected), and the application continues to run normally, while in the third case, the images actually publish; at no time do I ever get a crash or other untoward behaviour. Is there something else I should be doing? If your Piwigo installation's a private one, rather than a Piwigo.com-hosted one, may we have an account on it to help us test this? If you can configure it to be like it was when you first encountered the problem, that might help us get to a place where we could reproduce and fix this.
