this bug hit us when calling ghostscript from PHP code. We are running
PHP fastcgi process manager (php-fpm). It means PHP workers are not
killed after the request is answered to the client and it means
/etc/papersize file descriptors remains alive and the number increases
with each client req

Since that patch is not about Debian packaging, I suggest you submit it
upstream at https://github.com/mariadb/server branch 10.3 (or latest 10.5).
