The bug was a bit weird. The option "-f/--follow" wasn't parsed at all, but
given as a plain string instead of the AptPkg::Deb::* enumeration. (Maybe
AptPkg API changed in 2005...?)

Sorry, but I think this might not actually be an initscripts bug after all.
I'm also using flashybrid and in my mind I'd eliminated that as the source
of the problem, but I disabled it just to double check and when rebooted,
/run/lock had the correct permissions. I suspect that flashybrid can
please tell me where do I redirect this bug.
I do not know which package is this bug.

Could you please provide configure and build log, so I could see what's wrong.
This issue is a little curious, because OpenAxiom was successfully compiled
on amd64, i368 and freebsd-amd64.
