I believe this change is wrong and the behaviour change must be reverted.
--lzma should compress files with lzma (or at worst just abort saying it is
unsupported,) but not with xz.
Both formats are not compatible, xz might be capable of uncompressing lzma
archives, but lzma can't uncompress
