My Samsung printer broke about 2 weeks ago with this error and I have
not been able to get it working again. I have upgraded all my cups
packages to the latest (1.3.9-7) and went through the gs-eps procedure here.
Printing the test page from the cups web interface gives me:

difference between a lower case L (l) and a numeric one (1). They look
almost identical in the font chosen by the web page from which I obtained
the escape sequences for "altscreen" and "defscreen"

Looks like the old stack is back again in the Debian kernel. Good so far
for all the old tools.
Nevertheless, we need to start at some (hopefully) near point in the
future and find out what breaks with the new stack, which means
switching to libraw1394-2.0.x, first.

Basically update-grub fails (silently) so adding/removing kernels also
fails.

With GStreamer from experimental now support DVD menus, wouldn't it be a
good idea to register totem-gstreamer as capable of handling
