Thank you for the explanation about the differences between the AnonUser
and AnonDirName variables: however, this bug has nothing to do with

It seems that pidgin will treat '&' as the literal text 'amp' in an irc
chat. Not very nice if your nick is 'amp', as you will get the 'someone
mentioned your name' event for every '&'.
